Malin Flodström Tullberg received her Ph.D. degree in medical cell biology from the Uppsala University, Sweden. After that she conducted postdoctoral work in immunology at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, USA. In 2003 she was recruited back to Sweden and is since then heading a research group at the Karolinska Institute. The main focus of the research group is the etiopathogenesis of type 1 diabetes with a special interest in the pancreatic beta cell, the innate immune system and enteroviruses. The group also has an interest in cystic fibrosis (CF) and CF-related diabetes.
